On behalf of the National Office and the National Negotiating Team, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in the ratification vote and make their voice heard.
The tentative Collective Agreement has been ratified, with a final vote count of 1476 in favour vs 618 not in favour with 53 ballots spoiled, representing an approval percentage of 70.49%.
We appreciate the participation of our members throughout this process, whether through the virtual information sessions, questions submitted to the Association, discussions at the Branch level, or ultimately by casting a ballot.
With ratification now complete, our focus shifts toward implementing the significant commitments contained within the new Collective Agreement.
Among the major areas of work ahead will be the review and updating of positions as part of the Job Evaluation process, ensuring that Job Descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed today and that positions are properly evaluated under the new plans.
We will also begin the holistic review of the Sales compensation model, an important commitment that will allow the parties to examine the current structure in its entirety and work toward improvements where appropriate.
Another significant undertaking will be the amalgamation and review of our seniority list, including the work necessary to establish and confirm the new consolidated seniority structure.
These are substantial commitments, and the work will continue well beyond the ratification vote itself. We will keep members informed as each of these processes moves forward and as further information becomes available.
