Update on Negotiations between Canada Post and APOC
Canada Post and the Association of Postal Officials of Canada (APOC) continue to meet to negotiate towards a new collective agreement. The parties returned to the table on May 3rd, and are currently exchanging proposals on a number of issues.
Under the interest-based negotiations process, both parties work together to find common ground on the key issues before them. The parties have arrived at a crucial point in the bargaining process. However, because of the nature of the process, the issues being discussed at the table cannot be communicated at this time, and both parties have agreed to keep the discussions confidential at this time.
The collective agreement, which expired on March 31, 2009, remains in effect. Updates will be provided on the progress of negotiations as the parties continue discussions.
