SPECIAL LEAVE CODE FOR COVID-RELATED ABSENCES IS CHANGING
Good day,
Please be aware that the Corporation has made changes to COVID related leave and how it affects your At-Risk bonus for 2021.
At the beginning of COVID-19, Special Leave reason codes for Child Care, Elder care and High-Risk leaves were introduced to help manage employee absences for health and wellness reasons resulting from the pandemic.
We are now introducing a change to the leave code. As of April 25, 2021, Special Leave – Pandemic will replace COVID-related Special Leave. Below is what you can expect.
What you need to know:
Between now and April 24, 2021
Special Leave (absence code 9200) remains available for COVID-related absences between now and April 24, 2021.
As of April 25, 2021
Special Leave – Pandemic (absence code 9201) is replacing Special Leave (absence code 9200) for COVID-related absences starting April 25, 2021.
Special Leave – Pandemic (absence code 9201) will be available in SAP as of March 26, 2021 but can only be used for COVID-related absences starting April 25, 2021, including those that are existing and/or ongoing.
The process to review and approve COVID-related absences for Child Care, Elder Care and High-Risk leaves remains unchanged.
There will be future communications about this change, including updated job aids, when Special Leave – Pandemic (absence code 9201) is available.
