APOC and CANADA POST REACH A TENTATIVE AGREEMENT FOR A NEW COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

Joint message from Michael Ling, National President of the Association of Postal Officials of Canada and Susan Margles, Chief People and Safety Officer

We are pleased to announce that The Association of Postal Officials of Canada (APOC) and Canada Post have reached a tentative four-year collective agreement.

As a result of both parties starting labour negotiations early and expediting the process, we were able to reach an agreement before the current collective agreement expires on March 31, 2021.  The new agreement, which is subject to a ratification vote by employees represented by APOC, would extend to March 31, 2025.

APOC-represented employees will receive information about the ratification process in the coming weeks.

We want to thank both negotiating teams for their work on this important file, especially during a trying period of considerable change, as we implemented measures to keep our people and customers safe during COVID-19. We appreciate their tremendous effort, focus, and commitment to respectful, collaborative and productive negotiations.

Finally, we would like to thank all employees for continuing to put safety first while providing the vital service Canadians depend on.

Thank you

Michael Ling, APOC National President
