WORK CHALLENGE COMMITTEE UPDATE

The committee held nine focus group sessions across the country over the past two months with meetings in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax .The purpose of these meetings was to gather first hand accounts from our members on the Work Challenges issues.

From these meetings we have compiled a lot of material and are, at present, working with an outside consultant to write a business case to present to the Corporation later this year with the hope that they acknowledge the struggles of our members and work with us on appropriate solutions.

Our National President, Michael Ling, met with the newly appointed interim president of CPC, Jessica MacDonald, and she has taken an interest in the work of this committee and has indicated that she wants to personally see the business case as soon as it is completed.

The committee will be posting updates as our work progresses through the summer months.
