Vacation Scheduling of our members in the Commercial Service Network (CSN)
Colleagues,
The Association and the Corporation appeared before Arbitrator Baxter on Monday, January 16, 2012 in order to begin proceedings on Hearing the National Policy Grievance filed with regards to the Vacation Scheduling of our members in the Commercial Service Network (CSN).
With the assistance of Arbitrator Baxter and the respective counsels, a Memorandum of Agreement was agreed upon whereby; the Association has agreed to withdraw the grievance filed and the Corporation has agreed to consult Nationally with respect to a National Vacation Leave Schedule for telephony agents (including hybrids) within the CSN organization.
Consultation shall be completed by January 27, 2012 with a view to having a complete/final vacation schedule by February 15, 2012.
Arbitrator Baxter remains seized regarding any matter arising from the implementation of this settlement.
While the Association remains pleased that an Award was not deemed necessary to impose such a matter in this regard, it most certainly does not speak highly of the state of the relationship existing between ourselves and organizations within the Corporation.
We will continue to work to ensure the rights regarding respecting the principles of open and meaningful consultation are maintained at all levels of the company.
